- ICD-10: The International Classification of Diseases (ICD) is designed to promote international comparability in the collection, processing, classification, and presentation of mortality statistics. This includes providing a format for reporting causes of death on the death certificate. ICD-10 codes are useful in identifying diseases and comorbid conditions. ICD-10 Procedure codes are useful in identifying procedures provided typically in the inpatient setting.
- General CPT Codes: Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) identifies all the items and services included within certain designated health services (DHS) categories or that may qualify for certain exceptions. The CPT codes provide information on procedures and services provided largely in the outpatient setting by health care providers. Utility for this project relates to ability to capture HCPC codes among the CPTs related to specific agents used to treat cancer and other diseases.
- COVID-specific CPT Codes: New Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®) codes have been created that streamline the novel coronavirus testing currently available on the United States market. CPT codes have been created for reporting of immunizations for the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2, also known as COVID-19). These CPT codes are unique for each coronavirus vaccine as well as administration codes unique to each such vaccine.
- CVX: The CDC's National Center of Immunization and Respiratory Diseases (NCIRD) developed and maintains the CVX (vaccine administered) code set. It includes both active and inactive vaccines available in the U.S.
- CMS COVID-19 Vaccine Shots Codes: During the COVID pandemic, CMS and the American Medical Association (AMA) collaborated on a new approach to report use of COVID-19 vaccines. The release includes the coding structure for COVID-19 vaccine and monoclonal antibody products, currently comprised of both:
- An AMA-issued HCPCS Level I CPT code structure
- A CMS-issued HCPCS Level II code structure
Together, these codes describe the administration of the COVID-19 vaccines and the monoclonal antibody products as they become available. CMS and the AMA developed this code structure to make claims processing for administration of COVID-19 vaccines and monoclonal antibody infusions that get FDA EUA or FDA approval more efficient.
- CDC COVID-19 Vaccine Codes: COVID-19 Vaccine Codes and Crosswalk for Currently Authorized Vaccines and Anticipation of Potential Vaccine Availability under Emergency Use Authorization (EUA)
- COVID-19 specific Lab LOINC : LOINC terms that are related to SARS coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) and COVID-19: The Regenstrief LOINC team worked closely with APHL, CDC, FDA, labs, IVD manufacturers, and other stakeholders on terminology specifically related to SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19. This work helps support the HHS COVID-19 Pandemic Response, Laboratory Data Reporting: CARES Act Section 18115 (PDF) requirements that were published on June 4, 2020.
- NDC: FDA's National Drug Code (NDC) Directory contains information about finished drug products, unfinished drugs, and compounded drug products.
- CanMED - Cancer specific NDC: The Cancer Medications Enquiry Database (CanMED) is a two-part resource for cancer drug treatment related studies. It is intended to facilitate cancer surveillance, epidemiology, and pharmacoepidemiology research that uses the National Drug Code (NDC)
- SEER data elements/format: Provides the variable names and description of data included from the SEER Program relevant to the cancer
